One Vote One Value

Text Size a a a Print Print this page

The notion of one vote, one value is that each Member of Parliament represents, and is elected by, a comparable number of electors. This means that boundaries are distributed on the basis that every district would have an equal number of electors (+ or - 10%). In some cases legislation may provide for exceptions to give separate consideration to remote and regional areas.

Acknowledgement of Country

The Government of Western Australia acknowledges the traditional custodians throughout Western Australia and their continuing connection to the land, waters and community. We pay our respects to all members of the Aboriginal communities and their cultures; and to Elders both past and present.
