56. Existing law saved

All laws, statutes, and ordinances which at the commencement of this Act* are in force within the State shall until repealed or varied by any Act of the Legislature continue to be of the same force, authority, and effect as if this Act had not been passed, except in so far as the same are repugnant to this Act (in which case they are to that extent hereby amended and repealed as necessary).

57. Courts of justice, commissions, officers, etc.

All Courts of Civil and Criminal Jurisdiction, and all legal commissions, powers, and authorities, and all officers, judicial, administrative, or ministerial, within the State at the commencement of this Act* shall except in so far as they are abolished, altered, or varied by this or any future Act of the Legislature of the State or other competent authority, continue to subsist in the same form and with the same effect as if this Act had not been passed.
